The Upper West Side

To those who have left, and those who remain, the warmest of welcomes and most knowing of nods. We ran into your mom at Hot & Crusty last week and she was asking about you. Every one of you. We didn’t exactly know what to tell her, but we think it’s high time you came home. Even if you never left.

Meet us up on the sunny side of Duke Ellington Blvd. Come get a cup of coffee on Isaac Bashevis Singer Blvd. Grab us a table for four at whatever that place is on 88th that replaced Boulevard.

Ignore us completely and pretend you don’t see us sitting in Verdi Square. That’s totally fine. We won’t even tell anyone we saw you walking into Urban Outfitters with your sister. You thought it was still HMV. “Why are they selling Vans in HMV?” you were asking yourself. It’s a fair question.

Come, friend. Back to the UWS. We’ll try not to trip over any strollers or banks.

this write-up very pressured me to try and do so! Your writing style has
been surprised me. Thank you, very nice post.
